Each memory is held by something real and interpreted by all of life's experiences.

 

My paintings explore the connections between a particular memory and the physical world.

While combining images and painting techniques, a link between a particular environment and a memory merges to form an image that holds it's own reality.

 

Recent work unites the human figure,  signs, symbols, satellite photos, images of earth or the moon, with landscapes. Utilizing an array of painting and drawing methods (brush strokes, dripped paint, scraped layers, acrylic paint skins and image transfers, charcoal, ink and oil paint stick), the contrast between abstract and representational, micro and macro, warm and cool, light and dark, the natural and the synthetic is examined.
